John Stephen Jones is a Welsh geneticist and from 1995 to 1999 and 2008 to June 2010 was Head of the Department of Genetics, Evolution and Environment at University College London. Stephen has a Ph.D. in Genetics from the University of California at Davis and teaches graduate courses in advanced classical genetics and in the history and ethics of genetics. His studies are conducted in the Galton Laboratory. His first wheat crop was on five acres at Chico State University’s student farm in 1977. But in a personal film for the Daily Politics, Prof Steve Jones said the Mayor of London had a "deep misunderstanding of genetics", and he spoke about the interplay between nature and nurture.
